Today is the last official day of Summer Card Camp 2 at onlinecardclasses.com. I really hate to see it end! However, I am geared up and ready for my first class over at PapertreyInk.com for Stamp-A-Faire coming up on August 24th! I’ve heard all the buzz about what a phenomenal class this has been in the past – with tons of inspiration and giveaways! (Although, with my luck, I never win ANYTHING!) lol My best bud – Margie (you can see her fabulous creations at http://margieshodgepodge.wordpress.com/) – is coming up from Texas to join in the fun! On to my homework for Week 3, Day 4 — our assignment was to create something outside our creative comfort zone — using the color palette and/or the sketches. My “style” is pretty undefined — I try to keep things simple and bright AND, I don’t tend to use patterned papers. So, for this challenge, i decided to go dark – and using several sheets of patterned paper on a card. Here is my attempt of creating outside my comfort zone –
Not too “shabby”, eh? I used several sheets of designer paper from The Paper Studio The Great Rock Island Route 4.5″ x 6.5″ paper pad (Hobby Lobby). The papers from this pad had lots of different shades of browns, purples and blues in them – perfect for our color palette! Using My Favorite Things Dienamics Blueprints Two dies, I cut the elements from the various sheets. For the butterflies, I die cut some leftover Grafix blue vellum with Memory Box’s Vivienne Butterfly and Kaleidoscope Butterfly dies. I colored white pearls with a dark brown Copic marker and adhered them as the butterflys’ bodies. The sentiment is from Hero Arts Mix and Match Elements (CL266).
Hope everyone is caught up with their homework! I have to get hopping onto today’s homework! 🙂 Be back later, gator! Hugs!
